china chic

Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture Fall Winter 1977-1978Yeohlee Fall 1996
Blanc De Chine 1997
An Yves Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 1977-78 Haute Couture silk damask evening gown with stylized cloud pattern with a blue silk damask underskirt. I desperately wish I could call this my own.

Fall 1996, Yeohlee black stretch velvet mandarin dress

Silk denim tunic with hand-knotted closures and signature stitching at collar and wrist, Blanc de Chine, 1997. I love the simplicity of this whole look.

These are the last set I scanned from China Chic by Valerie Steele. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Chinese culture/history as well as fashion history, as this book covers foot binding to the Mao suit, and of course the cheongsam.

I also have scans from Dressing a galaxy but I won't bore you to death with star wars costumes and more fashion book scans, so maybe I'll sit on them for awhile.
