The Perfecto

The Perfecto: a waist-length, leather jacket originally worn by American fighter pilots. Made especially popular amongst 1950's teens after the release of Marlon Brando's The Wild One.

  9. The history of the leather jacket is very interesting, the fact it is often viewed as bad ass or rebellious is particularly interesting to me. For me though, I don't know how something that everyone wears can be bad ass! Not that leather jackets are bad by any means (I have my eye on a cool brown one at the moment), I just think a man wearing a skirt sounds more bad ass to me because that'd really make some waves walking down a busy street. ;)

  14. I never knew that when Balenciaga's moto jacket was called the perfecto that the name had any historical meaning. I just thought it meant Ghesquiere perfected the jacket.. which he did.
