Wizzard

Spring/Summer 2009

The inability to layer comfortably, during the spring and unbearably hot summer months tends to throw me off style wise. I feel like I lose my edge, as it gets too hot to wear my usual “armor” of black, suits, and boots.

I'm completely drawn to Wizzard's spring summer collection, because it shows that the key to summer layering relies heavily on cotton, linen, light colors and loose silhouettes. The last time I was in Zara I saw a lot of similar light-weight, worn-in linen jackets. I wish my life were more casual, that I had an excuse to buy them.

Also the styling here with the hat, glasses, and the overall styling reminds me of john shooter/mort rainey. And how can I not love that?

  3. Zad, I immediately thought Johnny Depp too, but I was thinking about his outfits in Benny and Joon(adore). I've been feeling a loose slouchy look as well.

  6. haha I met the guy modelling in the club when steve aoki played. my friend had told me that he was pretty big in japan as model, but I hardly could believe it. Now I see with my own eyes.

  8. Well said! I echo your sentiments wholly..I desperately trying to keep my style and stay cool at the same time without losing my edge and im finding it particularly hard this week with temperatures topping 90 in nyc. Its refreshing to see that one can still layer during sprintime. Great post!

  10. So honored you checked out my blog. Thanks so much...I've been visiting yours for months!

I really love the layer of the shorts with the slouchy leggings and boots of the first full body photo. I've been itchy to try that out in decent spring weather.

  11. Agreed. Summer is nice because you can really show off a garment without outfitting it... but since that detailing is my favorite part of fashion, I feel lost in summer. This is a good start!

  15. the overall styling, as you mentioned, is quite on cue. these throwbacks to the 90s really have my heart aflutter.

  16. I have to admit I've never seen this. But great stuff! Reminds me of a dandy cowboy.

The bad news is that when I went to the Margiela shop in Paris, the ring I wanted turned out to be waay more expensive than it would be in London. So I ended up not getting it.

  22. To neutral for my taste but the layering is sublime.

The girl you asked about was Stevie Dance, she's the Fashion Editor of Russh and she's naturally that tanned - sickening isn't it.
