Men Of Style: Jef Costello of Le Samourai

Men of Style: Jef Costello of Le Samourai
It is important to me that you notice the watch is worn on the inside of the wrist.

“I don’t want the action of a film to be recognizable as something that happens in 1968. That’s why in Le Samourai, for example, the women aren’t wearing miniskirts, while the men are wearing hats—something unfortunately, that no one does anymore.” -Jean-Pierre Melville

  1. Fantastic. You're right in that it's not about good clothes, but it's also about the way they move and speak. I think I'm going to love this series of posts :)

  4. Delon as Costello is soooo unforgettable! Le Samourai is one of the best films from Melville ever other than L'Armee des ombres...

I wouldn't mind looking as sharp and as mysterious 24/7 as Jef Costello!

  9. how chic! I wish it could be like it was back then, women wouldn't leave home without their white gloves and the men always wearing hats, I mean how chic would that be.. Maybe we should jumpstart that trend again :-)
