Alexander McQueen Fall 2009 + Pre Fall 2009

Saving the best for last!!!!!
Incredible Incredible show!!! This is instantly one of my all time favorites, along with McQueen's Fall 2006 men's show.

I don't make a point to look through PreFall/Resort (information overload), but for McQueen I can make exceptions.
The Pre Fall Woman is the precursor to the Fall Man.

Notice how some of the ideas are echoed through into the women's collection.
I don't have all of them featured, but the anorak, chunky knits, patterns, etc....

How do I not go crazy for the 3rd row, 2nd from the left?!! Check out Carine wearing the grey jacket/cape.

on a side note, does anyone know the proper name of the head coverings?

  1. such strong silhouettes! these are really incredible designs.
for some reason, as soon as i saw the men's pics, i thought johnny depp would like these clothes (probably because some of the models favor him..?) i could see him wearing most of the outfits.

  3. stephanie @ style odyssey: that's funny that you said that! I think of johnny depp too. Esp, the last look in the first row. It's the cheekbones.
Reminds me of From Hell even though overall this very Gangs of New York, but ive only vaguely 1/2 watched Gangs... but it is around the same time period.
If i'm not seeing star wars, i see johnny depp. LOL!

  5. Pre-Fall woman is majestic. I LOVE McQueen. The dudes look like vampires and one of them is a dead ringer for Johnny depp . . . Oh -- I see that you all realize that already!!

  10. hey. i would consider the head coverings a cloche. worn frequently in the 20's and 30's often with a jewelled broach.
