Honorable Mention: Alexander Wang FW 2010

Alexander Wang FW 2010
The runway styling is too junky for me, but removed from that context the clothes are cool and wearable.
The thing with Wang is his pieces get overexposed, but when all the surrounding hype dies down these are future classics.

  1. Yes, completely over-exposed, just in blogs alone! However, he represents one of the biggest advantages of American-trained designers - they design to sell. Phillip Lim is another one that comes to mind. People might complain thet NYFW is boring compared to the other cities, but everyone across the pond always marvels at Wang's commercial success every season.

  2. funny, i feel the same about alexander wang. never like entire wang outfits, but single pieces - many of them are really classy with an edge.

  3. Each time I check La Garçonne's selection of Wang, I'm caught off guards. I really appreciate his clothes. Whereas my initial feeling was distant because of all the buzz and like you, I was put off by the styling of his FW 10 presentation.
