Versace 1992 vs Versace H&M 2011

Versace 1992 vs Versace H&M 2011
Gianni Versace SS 1992 / Versace for H&M FW 2011

For Versace's H&M collaboration, Donatella pulls from the archives some of Versace's most signature looks. Luxirare did an amazing post on Gianni era Versace, where you can see more versions of this look, as well as view some other archival looks that H&M will be reproducing. I've decided to skip this one, since I don't see anything I'd actually wear. But the Bottoni Oro, Metal Mesh, and Pelle Borchie categories have the stand out pieces in my opinion.

  1. Beautiful! Ginni Versace was a true artist sharing stories through his fantastic opulence. I will always appreciate his work as artistic fashion.

  2. Gosh - this is an eyeopener seeing the original versus the H&M repo next to it! I'd have loved the studded jacket but have no patience for the ridiculous queues and scrums for these kind of collections.

  3. I love the comparison between the two! it has taken me awhile but now I am really starting to appreciate versace's glamiatrix collection from 1992! thanks for sharing this!
