  1. A lot of your "nevers" are my "always," or at least sometimes (i.e. mod 60's, nail polish, and hoop earrings)! But style should be an individual thing, right? And I'm thinking that some of these "nevers" are a comment on some trends that have been exhausted.

    1. There are "nevers" on my list that I like on other people that I won't wear myself.

  2. Your version of "bling-bling" works. Others should take note. :)
    No cashmere?

    1. cashmere is too precious for me, I've gotten rid of everything cashmere save for one piece: a scarf from Express going on 8 years old.

  3. I have an ostrich tote but rarely use it b/c it reminds me of goose bumps. : (

  4. Almost all the brands you listed on your never list are on mine! So enjoyable reading this, it made me start thinking of my own right away..

I hear you on cashmere. So hard to take care of. Hard-to-care-for knits make me grateful sometimes that I don't need them in my climate.

  5. Such an interesting list. I have never thought of it in such great detail probably because I was never really exposed to them even in my more experimental days. Its also gator over ostrich for me.

  6. ha! great list. i second the 'never' when it comes to ostrich. the texture (faux or real) always gives me the creeps.

  7. Intriguing list - I can't bring myself to like 60s mod and flouro either - and I'm very superstitious about wearing skulls - can't bring myself to wear them even if they are by Alexaner McQueen.

What did Calvin Klein do? (Not that I wear it - but my curiousity is piqued as it's in the same never again category as acrylic!)

  8. Tastes differ, style is something very personal, but I'm really intrigued by one thing: no cashmere?
PS: never mind, I've just read your reply to Odyssey Home on this :)

  9. Hm, I guess I need to make my own list now! I guess I have a list of sorts already but I need to write it down to make shopping easier and to help more precisely define my style.

  10. This is great! We were just walking home before I'd seen this and I asked my husband to name five things he'd never wear (cowboy boots, a bowtie, 'disco' jeans, a cowboy hat and anything pink). Plaid was on my list too.
