1989

Maison Martin Margiela for H&M
I'm not heavily knowledgeable about Maison Martin Margiela, but I find the silhouette of their narrow shoulder jacket echoes a streamlined version of a cheongsam. Considering their notorious tabi boots, it's not a stretch to infer they pull references from the far east. I know it’s passé to post about Margiela for H&M, but I find this look transcends time, especially considering the original version was produced in 1989.

  4. Not a fan of the H&M collabs, but I thought the MMM approach was by far the most sensible - reissuing is like a legitimised version of H&M and Zara's business model. This was such an awesome look. I had been hoping to see some of the more interesting H&MMM pieces around the street, but from what I've heard, H&M ended up not shifting that much, they had full racks on deep discount...I guess most consumers need something tamer.

  5. I ignore collabs in general but would have had a glance at this one, had I been near an H&M.
I am a big fan of Margiela tabi boots and find them quite comfortable.
Lovely ensemble here. The silhouette is steeped in elegance with a nod to the far east.
