Zig Zag

Missoni/Target coat, UO men's tee, Brooks scarf, Zara pants, Kenneth Cole shoes

The Sartorialist has posted quite a few printed coats lately, most notably this one and February in general. I wear my printed coats a lot more than my solid coats. This one is misshaped because of frequent wear, but I love it so much, flaws and all, that I won't give up wearing it.

  1. That Missoni coat is one of the best pieces of that collection—it's lovely to know that you wear it so much, as the whole collection seemed to disappear after the rush to the stores. Patterned coats bring life to the dullness of winter, and I find myself appreciating patterned blanket coats right now.

  2. Looks great! The one printed coat I have I should really wear more often. It's Miu Miu, kind of a 60s print. It draws so much attention though!

Otherwise I think I prefer prints mixed with solids. I would love one of those Dries van Noten coats with printed sleeves, or those half solid/half animal Givenchy jackets I keep mentioning.

  3. That coat is gorgeous! I'm not one typically for Missoni prints, but I think that is partially due to the colors- this black and white is lovely. I think when garments have flaws and misshapen areas from frequent wear it gives them character. I like that things look worn and loved- not new and pristine.

  4. Gorgeous monochrome look! I love how the zig-zag pattern of the coat breaks the austerity of the outfit, and that bag is a classic beauty!

  5. Geez that Missoni for Target range had some really fantastic pieces - you know a high street collaboration has really hit the mark when it's recognisable as the signature aesthetic of the brand - as soon as I saw this pic I instantly thought Missoni.
We don't get target in the UK :(

  6. Like the commenter above, I don't normally pay much attention to Missoni as their vibrant colors and patterns don't really suit my style. But the black and white print of that coat is divine, and it's really the perfect statement piece.

  7. when missoni gets it right - they really do and well done for managing to get such a fab piece from a collaboration range - so much better - love the monochrome styling - really works xx
