Valentino FW 2013

Valentino FW 2013
Past centuries Europe was another heavy influence on the Fall runways. At Valentino, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli referenced Dutch Reinassance and Golden Age paintings specifically Johannes Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring. As much as I love all out glamour, I also favor the austere fashions shown at Valentino, especially considering I have a soft spot for china blue and "Belle de Jour" dresses.

  2. I think Valentino just keeps getting better, with every collection. I am especially loving their blue dresses! I hope somebody will wear one at either the Golden Globes or the Oscars. XO, Jill

    1. i think there is a difference between runway and "red carpet." I could see these dresses being ripped apart on the red carpet, but I've long since stopped watching those fashion police type shows. though I think the red dress in the 2nd row would get rave reviews on a helen mirren or Meryl Streep.
